Project Maunga Preliminary Work

Preliminary work, mainly diversion of sewer, storm water, water, power and phone lines, around the construction site is ongoing for the month of August.
Currently work is focusing on watermain diversion. Within the site Fletcher Construction are doing preliminary excavation works to prepare the area for build.
Project Maunga Ready to go Ahead

Project Maunga, the redevelopment of Taranaki Base Hospital, received approval from Health Minister, Rt Hon Tony Ryall today.

Project Maunga Progressing Well

Taranaki District Health Board yesterday agreed to the tender process beginning for the construction of Project Maunga, Taranaki Base Hospital redevelopment.
Registration of Interest will be asked for on April 22nd for the engagement of builders for stage one of the redevelopment, closing in early May.
Concept Design Approved for Project Maunga

Project Maunga, the redevelopment of Taranaki Base Hospital, has reached another important milestone with the completion of the concept design.
The concept design, which determines the relationship between various departments, was supported at today’s (10 December) Taranaki DHB Board meeting.
Taranaki DHB Chief Executive Tony Foulkes said an important part of the concept design stage was gaining feedback from the user groups, made up of staff members and community representatives.
Project Maunga Site Investigation Drilling

Site investigation drilling is taking place this week in preparation for the redevelopment of Taranaki Base Hospital, Project Maunga.
Samples will be taken to identify the type of soil and sub-soil there is under the construction site.
Project Director Ian Grant, of NCOUNTER GROUP, says the tests will help determine the types of foundations needed for the redevelopment and what is required to mitigate any earthquake risk.
Project Maunga Consultants Announced

Project Maunga has reached a significant milestone with the appointment of specialised consultants to work on the redevelopment of Taranaki Base Hospital.
TDHB Chief Executive Tony Foulkes is pleased to announce the following appointments:
- The consultants for architecture and health planning are a partnership of Warren & Mahoney (Christchurch), Silver Thomas Hanley (Melbourne), supported by Ardern Peters Architects (New Plymouth).
- Holmes Consulting (Wellington) and Nagel Consultants (New Plymouth) will provide structural engineering services.
- The building engineering consultant is Beca (Auckland, with support from the New Plymouth branch).
- The quantity surveyor consultant is Rider Levett Bucknall (Auckland,
with support from the Palmerston North branch).

Project Director announced to lead Project Maunga - Base Hospital

NCOUNTER GROUP Ltd has been appointed to provide Project Director Services for stage one of the facilities redevelopment at Taranaki Base Hospital.
Taranaki DHB Chief Executive Tony Foulkes was looking forward to progress being made. “I am delighted with the involvement of Ian Grant and NCOUNTER GROUP who bring a wealth of experience,” he said. “This will help us get a great new facility to provide good quality services for Taranaki people into the future.”
New $80 million facilities redevelopment for Taranaki Base Hospital

Taranaki DHB chairman John Young is delighted to receive approval from Minister of Health David Cunliffe for an $80 million revamp of Taranaki Base Hospital.
“This is very exciting for the people of Taranaki. The Ministry of Health will fund $43 million for stage one of the redevelopment proposal with the remainder coming from the DHB and the community,” said Mr Young.
